Water Use and Energy Efficiency 101
Water Efficiency has a major role in cutting carbon
emissions.
Do you know that:
- The delivery of homes in the greater Dublin area is under threat as there is a “high risk of major water shortages” over the next six years
- 19% of the energy used in Irish homes goes to heating water?
- The energy consumption for hot water in new build energy efficient homes will often be greater than space heating
- Even as our homes become more airtight and better insulated, the demand for hot water remains the same
What will this course cover:
- Learn the role of water efficiencies in reducing carbon emissions
- Understand the key principles of rainwater harvesting, greywater reuse
- Learn how the unified water label is useful in relation to DEAP.
- Examples of buildings with water-efficient strategies and learn how it is linked to energy efficiency.
- The course will also introduce the EU Level[s] framework and the main concepts of indicator 3.1.
How is the course delivered?
After completing the eLearning components in your own time, you can access a live expert-led online Zoom session during which you can ask any questions you have.
