Lunch & Learn 2026: Green Public Procurement (GPP): What It Is, Why It Matters, and How to Implement It

Public authorities are among the largest purchasers in Europe, accounting for approximately 14% of EU GDP through the procurement of services, works, and supplies. This purchasing power presents a significant opportunity to drive environmental sustainability and accelerate the green transition.

But how can procurement processes meaningfully contribute to climate action?

Green Public Procurement (GPP) is quickly becoming a core requirement across public projects in Ireland and the EU. But many organisations are still asking:

What exactly does GPP mean in practice?
How will it affect tendering processes?
What does it mean for businesses bidding on public contracts?

This Lunch & Learn is designed as an introductory session - a practical overview to help you understand the fundamentals of GPP and assess how it applies to your work.

If you are considering investing in deeper GPP training, this session will give you the clarity you need to decide your next step.
